Now for the boring part....Only one entry (comment) per person, please. Winner must live in the Sugar Grove area or be willing to travel here for the session. Session must be used by May 1, 2012. It will be an outdoor shoot unless special arrangements are agreed upon and approved by me. This is for individuals, couples, or single families of up to 6 members, no exceptions. Winner must contact me within 48 hours of the drawing or a new name will be drawn. I think that's about it. Good luck!

Hey Mary, Why I would love to win your giveaway - I LOVE the pictures you did for me and my family in August and I just treasure great pictures. My house is covered with them and there is no such thing as too many pictures. My philosophy on pictures is this: I will never regret having too many pictures, and we change constantly and it is nice to capture my kids as they are... But you will regret missing those moments and not capturing them. I like to live regret free with loads of pictures from a wonderful photographer!

ReplyDeleteThe 'why' i would LOVE to win this 'gift' would be to help me get more comfortable w/ being photographed in general. My mother never liked having her picture taken for some reason & as a result none of us kids ever really grew up w/ many pictures other than yearly school pictures. I see your photographs of so many people in completely carefree settings & they look great! I would just be happy w/ having pictures of myself that I like, let alone having carefree shots that I could smile at too. ReplyDeleteHaving only family pictures taken for the church directory - the last one being in 2006, I would love to be able to celebrate our February 29 anniversary with formal pictures. You might notice - we are either celebrating our 20th or 5th anniversary depending on how you count the years. Having a "leap year" anniversary - we don't celebrate that big on the "off years." So, it would be really nice to do something special this year. We love the work you did for Joe & Margaret's wedding.

Mary, I would love to win your photo contest! Our shoot with you back in May was amazing. We had never done a professional photo shoot like that before and you captured my family to the tee. The pictures are amazing and something that will be treasured forever! Getting school pictures of my boys just isnt the same after seeing your work, nothing compares! ReplyDeleteSeeing your work, and being able to have you photograph my children, was just an amazing experience, you were able to capture their beauty, and their love, and I will hold that forever!
Why would I love to win this...because to me, this would be more than just a contest "win" this would be an amazing opportunity. As you know, I am a work at home mom, of 4 kiddos, 1 with highly special needs, now a son with possible ADHD, a 4 year old with type 1 diabetes who gets blood taken atleast 4 times a day, and with shots up to 4 times a day, and my new little 3 months old. I also went through a deep postpartum depression about 2 years ago, that not a lot of people know a lot about, and that I had chosen not to tell them details about what I was going through... and had to work very hard to pull myself through that, counseling, treatment programs, it was the scariest and hardest time of me life...and I made it through.
I know you know that as a mother, we put everyone else first, and our needs are put on the back burner. I would love to use this contest as a way to encourage myself, to bring myself to the front line, work out, get my body back, and feel beautiful and sexy again. I have always wanted to have my photos taken, but I am very self conscious now, and I would LOVE to be able to just let go, and have a momento of how unbelievably far I have come, and how no matter what, I am indestructible. I want my children to see how beautiful and strong their mom was/is. And how no matter what life has thrown at me, and even through the bad days, I dont give up. This wouldn't be a contest win, it's a marker of a life win.
Thank you Mary, so much, for everything. Anyone that you have taken photos of, you have given an unbelievable gift to us all. I am so grateful.

ReplyDeleteMy family hasn't taken a professional photo in over 3 years. I hesitate to go back to Sears where they were taken last because I look at what you can do and wish for those kind of captured moments. You really know how to capture someone's personality and make them shine!

Hi Mary! :) I know you're going to think I'm crazy to want to win this, but I do! I can't take pictures of my own family, so I need a family photo session, not only for my family but like you, to grow my business! (and you wouldn't necessarily have to edit anything either! ;)) I have so enjoyed getting to know you over the last several months or more and look forward to getting to know you more and learning more together, not just in photography world, but in our faith as well! Always enjoy seeing you post new picture, you are very talented and I love your style! I would really love to win this contest! I have a wonderful family and we have never had a family picture. I have 3 boys, 5, 3, and 18 months and they are growing up before our eyes. My youngest 2 have never even had a professional picture. I really want to have a family picture of all of us. I think it would be the best gift for me and my mom. She battled cancer this year and is in remission!!! She told me throughout her whole journey how she couldnt do this without her grandsons! A family picture of all of us would be so treasured by her and myself!

Being involved in one of your first shoots, it has been so fun to watch your talent grow and develop over the past year.

ReplyDeleteWe recently had our photos taken by you at a mini-session. The photos that you took were spectacular. It is very hard to get my kids to all photograph well. I appreciated your patience with my 5 year old who had fallen asleep on the drive to the photo shoot and woke up VERY cranky and uncooperative. After some urging from you, he enjoyed his photo time and some wonderful pictures came out of that.
I would love to win this shoot to capture more memories of my growing children. They truly are growing up so fast and photos are the best way to capture those special moments.
