Hi-Ho the dairy-o, the farmer takes a wife....

For those of you under the age of fifty, you might not recognize the little ditty in my post's title.  It's taken from the old children's song "The Farmer in the Dell."  And yes, I know I spelled "derry" wrong, but "dairy" is just so much more appropriate.  And it couldn't be more fitting for this adorable couple.  Joe is a dairy farmer and although Margaret grew up in the city, her family is involved in farming and she is no stranger to harvest-time work, driving an 18 wheeler during the busy season.

We took engagement photos on a cold day in February and it was immediately apparent to me how very much in love these two were.  The playful, but quiet looks they exchanged...the keen awareness they shared of one another's presence, even in a crowded room of people...and the heart smiles that proclaimed their love more than any words could.  Quite frankly, Joe was obviously smitten with Margaret in every single way.  And it was no secret that Margaret held the same feelings for Joe.

Their wedding was truly perfect in every way.  It was an honor for me to capture their special day and see the love of these two incredible families.  Their values of faith, family, hard work, commitment, and love are evident in everything they do.  I pray that God will bless them, both now and in the years ahead, and that I am around to meet every one of the ten children they are planning on having.

Congratulations, Joe & Margaret!

  2. We could see and feel their love and we are happy you did too! We just came through a rain storm, and thinking it is raining inside too. Beautiful words Mary, for a beautiful couple. God is good! We couldn't be happier with Joe and his family! The blending of the two families is perfect. Thank you for being part of their love story. The photos you took truly capture their love and we have those now for generations. I have so many favorites I don't know which one to put on the mantle, maybe I will let Margaret and Joe make that decision.
So glad you said yes to being the photographer, thank you again! Cathy
